Rochon was born and raised in Torrance. She was born to Zelma Staples (a nurse practitioner) and Samuel Staples (a businessman and graphic artist). Cerritos High School, Cerritos California is where she completed her high-school education in the year 1982. She received her bachelor's degree of broadcast journalism and minors in theatre and sociology from California State University Dominguez hills (CSUDH). Rochon was back at CSUDH in 2016 she was the keynote speaker at CSUDH's College of Arts and Humanities the commencement ceremony.

A woman who loves automobiles, she has been the host of series for Garage Squad on Discovery's MotorTrend Network, Street Tuner Challenge on Speed TV and a guest on Jay Leno's Garage. Heather hosts and creates the travel digital series Drive Yourself Local. She explores America's small towns with the 1965 Ford Mustang. Heather has appeared on several TV and film series that include Nightingale as well as Epic Movie.

Ullerup was Julia Brynn in the 2006 remake of Battlestar Galactica, which was shown by Sci Fi Channel. The actress played Ashley Magnus on the Sanctuary TV series during its initial and second seasons, until it was canceled. People were angry over her departure and wanted to see her return in the next shows. It ended in 2012 but not before there was a heated discussion. In the year 2016, Ullerup was cast as Bree O'Brien in Chesapeake Shores. Ullerup played Maggie Thomas the estranged husband of Michael Thomas. Ullerup has been a regular character as Dale Travers, in the Hallmark Signed, Sealed, Delivered film series since the year 2016.

   Heelan was the daughter of Kimball Heelan, an actress and teacher at Lowell Public Schools, and Kevin Heelan, a playwright. Conor is her older brother.
