Milena Govich

Milena Govich, who is a director, actor and musician, has directed many episodes of TV including Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) among others. She also served as Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and is attached to direct two pilots in development. Milena was one of the eight women chosen by AFI for their highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her short film as well as a television show proof of concept was shown at SXSW. It also took home Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 directed by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has been featured in over 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), an episode of the Dick Wolf series, was her second major character. This led to her being the Emmy-winning woman detective in Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured or recurred on several other television shows including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has been in numerous films, including Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) which starred opposite Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). Milena is from Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating as valedictorian from her high school She went on to earn the double major in vocal performance and premed with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. In the following years she benefited from her classical ballet training to appear on Broadway in the production of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall of "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
