Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
started her professional career as a TV and film producer, including "The
New Card Sharks", (1978) as well as "Card Sharks" (1986). She
went on to produce projects like Double Dare (1976), and has appeared on many TV
shows, including E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000). One
of her most memorable TV role was as "Christine Sullivan" on Night
Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992, she appeared in 156 episodes. She was the
daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and famous nuclear physicist
Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 2015). Two daughters, Katie
Ross (born June 26 1987) and Daisy Ross (born on March 30 in 1990) were born in
her second marriage to Michael A. Ross. She was born in Palo Alto, California
and grew up near Walnut Creek, California. As cheerleader, she attended Las
Lomas High School located in Walnut Creek. Earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She did some
trick roping in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated and
her ashes returned to Michael A. Ross. She was a lifetime Democrat. Markie Post
passed away on August 7, 2021, three months from what would have been her 71st
birthday, which was on November 4. Her death occurred 27 days after fellow
Night Court (1984) co-star Charles Robinson, who passed died on July 11, 2021.
Although the two shows were not connected, Night Court (1984) was the final
show to end with Christine Sullivan's character moving to Washington DC. Hearts
Afire (1992) began with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in
Hearts Afire (1992), and she later relocated to a more secluded area after her
stint in Washington DC.
