Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actress and presenter. Vergara was the highest-paid American actress from 2013 to 2020. Vergara gained prominence hosting two Spanish-language programs on Univision in the latter half of the 1990s. Her first notable acting job in English was in the movie Chasing Papi (2003). Later, she appeared in Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. She began her career as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett on ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. For her role, she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards.
