Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actress. She is the sole child to a classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father Julian Pike. They worked hard for their families and she traveled extensively across Europe in her early years. Pike was a student at the Badminton School in Bristol, England and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. While appearing in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and contracted by an agent. However, she continued to study in Wadham College, Oxford, where she studied English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper second-class honours degree.Pike played in a range of UK TV series that included Wives and Daughters (1999) prior to making her debut in a feature film as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released it was released at just 23. Although her first film was a high-budget action movie, her film performances were mostly in smaller independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). The Libertine won her the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for this film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first film. Following the action movie, Doom (2006) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007), Pike had a brief appearance in Hollywood film. But, she returned to films of a smaller scale with exceptional performances in three movies: An Education (2008) as well as Made in Dagenham (2010) and the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). In the film, she starred with Tom Cruise as her female character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action movies.
