Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer with Irish descent was a well-known persona. The fiery, passionate roles she appeared in number of American films were appreciated by the green-eyed beauty who had flashing hair and fiery eyes. Her stunning look and natural beauty were well-received. She was referred to in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her characters onscreen reflected her own strong, courageous spirit who was fighting for respect and survival in the male-dominated society. She was known as "the tough Irish girl" and would not sacrifice her respect for other people in order to get the roles she was entitled to due to merit. She was a strong supporter of women's roles in film and television, and gained a lot of followers in the process. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", published in 2004 gave a candid review of her life including her struggles in her climb to achieve success. She was an adventurous woman who was never afraid to perform herself at her own tricks. Over the years she was in more than 60 films and earned a lot of popularity throughout the world. Moving on from Parra, she remarried again in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier, former chief pilot, and an early pioneer in transatlantic aviation, just to mention several accomplishments. In the early years of their union, O'Hara decided to finally retire. Blair, however, died in a fatal plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's bliss was not long-lasting. She was also diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year, and had an immediate procedure. She eventually recovered. Her health deteriorated as time went by and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six and short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. On the 24th of October, 2015, O'Hara died peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
