Mena Alexandra Suvari Bio

Mena was ranked #69 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2005" list. She also was ranked at #73 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2007" list, and was ranked #52 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2008" list. Mena completed her creative pursuits by playing the iconic character of Black Dahlia in Ryan Murphy's TV series American Horror Story (2011) and continued her work on the medium, following up with an arc in the hit show Chicago Fire (2013), and also directing the Amazon pilot Hysteria (2014) and the mini-series of WeTv's South of Hell (2015) which was executive produced by Eli Roth and Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions. Mena will star opposite Alicia Silverstone on John Wells and TV Land's American Woman. The actress graduated from Providence High School in Burbank, California class of 1997. Her name of last resort, "Suvari", pronounced "soo-VAHR-ee", is Estonian. Her father is Estonian and her mother is American. The maternal grandfather of Mena was Norwegian, German and English Her maternal grandmother was Greek. First name, Mena. Pronounced "MEE-nah". Entertainment Weekly magazine named her the most patriotic performer of 2000, referring to the three films which had the word "American" in their titles: American Pie (1999), American Beauty (99) and Live Virgin (1999). In 2001, she added American Pie 2 (2001) to the list. In addition, 10 years later, she added another "American" film to her collection, with American Reunion (2012).
