Jennifer Coolidge Bio

Jennifer Coolidge, a versatile actress who can play various characters, and also is an innovative comedian. She is most well-known for her performance as Stifler's mother in American Pie (1999). Born August 28, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gretchen (Knauff) who was a plastics manufacturer as well as Paul Constant Coolidge on August 28 the 28th of August, 1962. Young Coolidge dreamed of being a performer. She attended Norwell High School and Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and received her bachelor's degree in theater in the year 1985. After that, she relocated to New York, where she joined the Gotham City Improv Group. Later, she relocated to Los Angeles where she became an ongoing part of "The Groundlings" comedy group. Coolidge made her television debut in a guest role on the NBC show Seinfeld (1989) as an edgy masseuse who refuses to provide her professional services to her boyfriend Jerry in an episode from 1993. The next year, she was offered regular roles on ABC's short-lived sketch show She TV (1994), later becoming a brief writer and cast member on another short-lived sketch comedy series that was Fox's Saturday Night Special (1996) produced by Roseanne Barr. Her first big screen appearance was as nurse in Not of This Earth (1995) followed by Trial and Error (1997). Then, she appeared in small roles in several more feature films, and also continued to work on television. Coolidge had her breakthrough role in American Pie (1999), as a sultry and drunken mom who seduces her son's classmate with the observation that she likes her scotch, and men in alike: age 18 years. In American Pie 2 (2001) she reinvented the character. Then, she reprised her character with Reese Witherspoon as "Paulette" in "Legally Blonde". Although, she lost the role in "Lynette Scavo" on Desperate Housewives (2004) to Felicity Huffman Coolidge was a regular on a variety of TV comedy shows as making guest roles on Frasier (1993) and Sex and the City (1998). She was then offered a recurring role in the ABC sitcom Joey (2004) in the role of "Bobbie Morgenstern" as Joey's agent being featured in 37 episodes over two seasons.
