Antonique Smith
Antonique is an actor and singer, with numerous credits, including Broadway as well as film. Her releases include soulful R&B albums. Smith began her professional career as a performer in East Orange New Jersey, beginning in 1983. Her debut role was on the Sidney Lumet TV series 100 Centre Street. Her next big break came in 2005 in the role of Mimi the Broadway popular show Rent. Also in 2007 she appeared in Julie Taymor's feature movie Across the Universe. Smith showcased her voice and acting skills the following year when she portrayed Faith Evans, a rapper/singer in the Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious. Smith received a variety of acclaims for her role that resulted in her being cast in other films like Abduction (2011) with Taylor Lautner & Alfred Molina; and Yelling to the Sky (2011) opposite Zoe Kravitz & Gabourey.
