Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her debut film role came in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts was a failed actor when she first came to the United States. She acted in small-scale films and eventually became an actress. Her fame grew internationally by playing the role. Watts was then cast as a depressed journalist in the remake of The Ring (2002). For her portrayal of a grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Watts continued to climb in the spotlight with her performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as well as Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible (2012). In the 2010s, Watts was in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a mainstay in blockbuster movies, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
